Padauk is one of the heaviest, hardest and strongest timber in South-East Asia.
Small and definately steady. Extremely durable and resistant to termites. Extremely resistant to preservative treatment. Untreated timber under most severe conditions lasts more than 12 years.All padauks are of African or Asian origin. Padauks are valued for their toughness, stability in use, and decorativeness, most having a reddish wood.
